If this is thefinal build, why should there be any delay between it appearing on Technet and Windows Update?

If it's final, it's not as if they need any more testing to be done before releasing it to the masses.....

I doubt they are holding it back to distribute to manufacturers - I don't see Dell and the suchlike preparing a huge sales push for Vista SP2 PCs after all. The only thing they are interested in at the moment is preparing for Windows 7 in the autumn.
