Re: Samsung Printer / Allow NT 4.0 Driver / No GPEDIT Hey Donnie1967,
I also had the same message with my Lexmark 2600. It worked fine for two months, then I disconnected the USB one day (printer was hooked up to my laptop) and when I plugged it back in, I got this message "driver is not compatible with a policy enabled on your computer that blocked nt4.0 drivers" and was unable to print for a few days.
Well I figured out how to get my printer back. I am assuming that your printer is installed on your computer but just does not have the ability to read the driver and print.
1. Go to: Control Panel >> Printers
2. Right-click on your printer then scroll down to "properties"
3. Open the "ports" tab at the top of the screen
4. Change the port from USB to something else, or you can create a new local port and change it to that.
5. Re-install your printer and then make sure that the new installed printer is using the USB port.
This is what worked for me. Simply deleting the old installed printer software did not work. This was the only way, but at least I can print now. This may not work for you, but it is worth a try. |
