Cannot install Virtual Server 2005 R2 enterprise x64 on Vista timatx64 with SP2 I am having problems installing Virtual Server 2005 R2 Enterprise on my Vista Ultimate x64 with SP2
I have formatted my PC and reinstalled a clean OS, moving from Vista Ultimate x86 to x64 with SP2. I researched the web and did the installation of IIS7 as detailed in various websites. (CGI, II6 config compatability etc)
When I try to install Virtual Server, first indication that there was going to be a problem was when I get to the page showing the port Virtual Server was going to use ... it was BLANK ! (I was expecting 80 as I have installed the same on Vista Ultimate x86 and got it working before)
True enough, in the final page before install I get a message that installing the Administration Website requires IIS and the administration service to be running and it will not let me install, so installion did not even start !
Clearly the install did not detect the webserver at all. To verify all is well with IIS7, I pointed IE to the local machine and I see the default IIS7 webpage so IIS7 is running.
I have no way to install Virtual Server 2005 R2 Enterprise.
Has anyone encountered this problem and how do you solve it ? |
