Even if a reboot wasn't requested, have you restarted the virtual Vista
guest? Some installs add entries to the PendingFileRename key to
replace or delete files on Windows startup. Subsequent installs
sometimes check for this and refuse to do their install until the reboot
has completed.

Is the IIS server installed? If so, is it turned on? Some of the
ASP.net needs the server during the install.

Did you visit the Windows Update site to see if it finds any .Net stuff
that needs to be updated?
