But when I tried to cancel the burn as you did, the computer locked and in the end we had to turn it off with cd still in drawer. When we tried to load the cd after, the message was the same as yours - "drag files to add them to disk". Drag files from where? It also says that the folder (cd) is empty. I am going to try opening the disk on another computer today.
I was wondering have you had any success using the isobuster link?
Hi wend isobuster is a free program if it is used for specific types of files, happily photos are one. If there are any pictures on your CD, isobuster will find them and you can restore them to a folder on your computer and perhaps burn a new CD. Give it a try, I would not be without it, even though I have not had to use Isobuster since I got Vista, I do have it installed, just in case.
Thank you very much for your reply. However I am delighted to report that I took the 'empty' CD to my local ASDA photo section and loaded it into their computer and all 290 pictures appeared. I got them to burn a copy of the CD which loads into my computer fine.

I really don't know what happened/what I did in the first place, but am really glad that this story has a happy ending.

I will certainly bear the isobuster in mind should I encounter similar problems in the future.
Glad you got your photos and thanks for reporting back.
