Hi Jonathan,
Thank you very much! It worked :-) I disabled the Add-ons entry you told me
about, close and relaunched IE8 then went to SkyDrive, LiveCal and for good
measure the Windows Live team blog and in all three sites, I got a balloon
popup telling me that an add-on was trying to access the site. Live Messenger
did not launch in the systray.
