Bios for my board, p5w64, is latest 1201 and has been reset before i installed cpu.

how fast is your RAM reported as being on the BIOS splash screen at start up..??, it dosent say 4300 does it..?? are you running ''dual channel'' (matching sticks)
also are you saying that the splash screen shows the CPU @ 2.2ghz, but inside windows its reporting 2.8ghz..??
