Sounds like the system is set to automatically log onto a specific
username, and the password specified is wrong (or was changed). You
can fix this by disabling the automatic logon.

To do this, click Start and type ‘netplwiz’ then press enter. In the
window that comes up, check the “Users must enter a username and
password to use this computer” box. Click OK, and that should do it.
(Of course, if you have UAC enabled you'll get prompted along the way,
just click continue / supply the admin account info or whatever and
you'll be fine.)
