RE: The sims2 and directx 10 I'm having a fairly similar problem...
I had installed TS2 a while back after buying it last year (I'm slow to
jump on the bandwagon, yes) and played it just fine. I also installed Pets,
Nightlife (I have Double Deluxe), University, Apartment Life, and
Celebration! Stuff.
I then uninstalled it at the beginning of the month so I could install and
play TS3. After a while I realized I liked TS2 better (only because of all my
CC, lol) and uninstalled TS3 to reinstall TS2 and all my expansions.
So I did. And then I get the "Failed to enumerate any DirectX 9 compatible
graphics adapters" message. I have DirectX 10 after I had run the update, and
as someone on this thread had said, it should install any missing folders and
I shouldn't have a problem. I also just installed all the latest drivers for
my video card (ATI Radeon Xpress 1250). I know my video card meets the specs
because I used to play TS2 fine for hours.
And I've tried playing from my expansion discs and the original, but then
I get a popup with just a red X and "OK" or it tells me to play with the
latest expansion which is Apartment Life... SO, what's going on? I meet all
the requirements and still TS2 won't play. ;-; |
