fadedrs: We have speed fan already, both the bios and speedfan report the low 900 rpm's. It's a LiteON ps-6401-3 psu at 500w.

AstaLaVista: It was enabled, I disabled it yesterday only to find that the RPM's all ran the same.

Archie123: Yes we mounted it correctly with both the stock one, and the new one.
We used this exact brand of Thermal Compound. Dynex® - Silver Thermal Compound - DX-STC 100

At first we applied too much after watching a ton of vidoes about proper application of thermal compund.. After wards we put a little bead in the the center and set the heat sink on it again and let it spread.
(We used 99% isopropyl alcohol to clean after each application)


I believe too much is bad and too little is bad so we just did the "blob technique" according to a few videos.

(Just read a review on this paste, apparently according to one person it takes about 3 days to reach maximum heat transfer)
