I will acknowledge that shody cooling is plaguing "Both" card companies. As for ATI's build quality, I have to disagree with you there. I've been with ATI since 1999-2000 and have only had one card crap out on me (3870).

As to the XFX version of the 4890, that's the one I have and so far no issues.

You cannot just curse ATI with your 9 yrs old experience. I have been using ATI on my desktop and laptop and its giving me an amazing gaming performance.
