a lot off ppl will go for the performance regardless, but many suffer high temps & poor build quality...even faliure.
if your gonna go ATI make sure its XFX.....

You cannot just curse ATI with your 9 yrs old experience. I have been using ATI on my desktop and laptop and its giving me an amazing gaming performance.

please point out the text which states ATI cards dont ''perform'' well..??
ALL are entitled to their opinions, i can only report on my experience & the experience of others on H/W forums...
& the information i gave is in fact correct..... ATI have great cards, lets not beat around the bush, but they're not as refined as Nvidia..... as a long time user of both GPU manufacturers, & a long time reader in GPU development & performance, i can safely stand by my statements....
if you can get a 4890 to idle @ 40c with the stock cooler, running 25% fanspeed.... then i will reconsider the heat issue.... the same goes for ALL HD3xxx & HD4xxx series cards... they're VERY hot!!
now, build quality.... 2 of my ATI cards coolers have basically been loose on the PCB (the introduction of XFX may fix this), & putting an ATI card in your rig without cutting yourself is a pretty hard thing to do

.... they're just jagged & thrown together (hence the lower price), but they do perform for the most part...
im no NV fanboy, but i say what i see.....
