Re: unwanted(objectionable) Emails It happens because there are spammers who enjoy sending them. They bounce them off open relay email servers. Email software then tries to find a 'best match' for the email address in the To: line. Sooner or later, and email server grabs it, and tries to deliver the email to a recipient. Many of these open relay email servers are in China and North Korea.
I know that if you put your email address on a web site, or any publically viewable area, you will get them. The spammers have bots who parse web pages for email addresses, then they save them to a list, then they spam those emails addresses.
You may have to change your email address. One time I was subjected to what is called a 'joe job'. I got thousands of them an hour over a period of 2 weeks. Had to change my web site and email address.
There are programs, don't kow the names off-hand, that let you log into the email server under your username and password, filter by subject line, then download the rest. |
