Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8064.0206).

What you suggested works.
I found an even easier way based on what you suggested.
Export a mail folder, delete the contents and then drag all of the exported
files back in.
Unfortunately Import places them in my Inbox, not the specific folder I
want.
