Re: Can't enable wireless

You know...I followed all of these actions, and this may sound so elementary and so silly, but sometimes it is the really simple stuff that trips you up!

I looked at the bottom of my laptop and found the wireless Lan mac address, and it was way different than the one the ipconfig was reporting. So, I put that mac address in my list of allowed on our wireless router and ....

CHA...Ching...I was connected.

Go figure.

Just a thought.

My System SpecsThis may also sound silly, but I've been working with Windows since version 2, and it still trips me up with the simple stuff! Haha..

Today, my new Toshiba laptop would not connect. Turns out the wireless mac address that is on the bottom of the laptop was not the same as the one being reported by ipconfig.

So, I put that mac address in our wireless router's list of allowable mac addresses...and Bing! I was on.

Go figure. I had already done just about everything else except through it off the 3rd floor balcony.

It's always the obvious that gets me.
