"Not plugged in"
I am having a similar problem. I have a Dell Dimension 9200. My speakers are plugged in, even though Vista is not detecting them. This is what the Sound Playback tab says:
Speakers
High Definition Audio Device
Not Plugged In
Digital Output Device (SPDIF)
High Definition Audio Device
Working
How do I get sound to play through my normal analog speakers?
