decided to salvage what's left in the Dell (RAM, Vid card, SATA HDs, PS,
DVD)
and put together a new PC. The new PC will have new Intel MB (765G chipsset,
a Multimedia MB), a new Intel Core Dual CPU, and a new case.

Can you run the Dell diagnostics utility?

Compare the power connections from your power supply to those of the new MB.
