Tried the classic menu yet?
In the new Vista menu, the search box has functionally replaced the run box
(which, by the way, still pops up if you hit Winkey+r and can still be added
to the start menu). The theory behind it, based on input from test groups,
is to eliminate as many steps as possible in accessing anything on the
system or the internet. No more opening the program or prompt and then
inputting what you want - you simply type it into the search box. If you
don't want to search from the start menu, then don't - open your preferred
browser first.
