I have 2 DVD/CDRW burners set as higher drive letters to keep them out of
the way.

I updated the firmware on one, and after reboot, Vista acts like it's
installing a whole new device and I end up with a driver letter down at H:
again, which I have to change.

Why does it do that? It's the same device, just newer firmware.
