RE: problems with installing vista

hey jim,

now let me get that straight:

you tried to make a flat installation (but without removing XP and without
totally cleaning the disk).
Then the installation failed.
You returned to XP.
And with the files Vista did write onto your disk and vlite you created a
bootable DVD. Then you booted with that DVD and could continue with the
installation?? (I guess you had to put in again the Vista DVD at some time).

Is that what you did?
