Apologies, you are right the desriptions would have helped.

1521
Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is
attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will
not be copied to the server when you logoff. This error may be caused by
network problems or insufficient security rights.

1500
Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that
you are connected to the network, or that your network is functioning
correctly.

It is a roaming profile issue, all our suers have roaming profiles. Usually
when a user gets to a station they have not used before, logs on - the
station pulls the profile from server. Once the profile is on the station the
user can log onto it if the station is connected to network - or not.

The new Vista station is clearly seeing the network, but only allowing admin
users to log on, other users just get the message I posted. It is not the
issue posted by Ravenhorn, as users don't get a temp profile.
