Sorry if the way I structured this thread is wrong but I encounter one major problems when installing Windows Vista.
The version of Windows Vista is Home Premium x86.
The installation seems to hang after the 2nd reboot (that's after the completing installation and going to setup time/date, user acct and such). The computer will boot up to the boot screen where the green loading bar is
moving but no hdd activity. I waited for 12 hours but to no improvement. I tried booting in safe mode but it says setup cannot continue in safe mode. In short, all the advance boot options I've tried, none worked.
My system specification are:
Compaq Presario SR1748CF
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 640 (3.2 GHz)
1GB PC4200 DDR2-SDRAM
200GB Samsung SP2004C SATA HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 6200SE w/ TurboCache 256MB
After some research, I tried going to safe mode again and Shift+F10 to bring up the Command Prompt and tried to replace the original vista Nvidia driver to Standard VGA driver but problem continues so I think it isn't with my graphics card or drivers.
I also attempted to install Windows Vista several times (clean/upgrade) but with same results.
Need help to solve this, searched many forums but didn't find anything. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If any additional information (like logs, etc) is needed, do tell me and I can try my best get them. Thanks in advance.
The attached is the only part in 'setupapi.dev.log' that fails (sorry if too long):
(basically, I think everything devices ended with "DIF_FIRSTTIMESETUP failed with 0xE000020E for class { xxx }")
I apologised for the log file to be in .zip because it's too big to be attached.
