Basically same issue. I cannot FTP to any of my hosts.
I usually just ftp via browser but IE7 says I'm not connected to the
internet. :-/
(how am I typing this?)
Tried several FTP client, as you indicated, error varries depending on client.
Tha only program I can get to access my host is Dreamweaver8.
