RE: Maximum number of files (from network share) in Windows Explorer? Check to see if there is a firmware update for your device. Previous versions
of Samba apperently have trouble with fast queries (which is standard in
Vista, XP only used slow queries which works), if your device's manufacturer
doesn't provide an update or if the firmware is not able to be updated,
you're outta luck.
