Ahh... that's the way it would have to be done, but it's a pop-up
dialog; what I'd really like is HD temperatures shown and updated in
the System Tray. There's a free tool that does this in XP...

....but in Vista it doesn't get the right to access SMART if it is
autorun. I doubt if it has a driver or service component, which is
the approved way of working around this in Vista.
