MS Outlook. OP states that Outlook launches Windows Mail for newsgroups. OP
also states that Windows Mail is unreliable. Wants to know if Windows Live
Mail desktop will function as the news reader invoked by MS Outlook.

MS Outlook will invoke MS Outlook Express as news reader. At least on
systems where both co-exist.
