You can leave Data Execution Prevention active and simply exclude that
program in the DEP settings.

Open Control Panel / System / Advanced System Settings. In the Performance
section, click the Settings Button. Open the Data Execution Prevention tab.

Select the option to "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those
I select."

Click the ADD button. Navigate to the programs .exe file and select it.
Click Open. Click Apply/OK.

This should prevent DEP from interferring with the program.
