on your computer. Just the data, pictures, documents, spreadsheets, etc....
If you have a CD-RW/DVD-RW, then do the backup.
Do a clean install of Vista on your PC, then install AVG Free or AVAST which
works well with Vista. Upgrades usually are hard to deal with, you will
never fully get rid of pesky problems with your old system. I am sure
people will say that this is over kill, but up front you will spend more
time formatting and installing everything from scratch, but in the long run,
you will have less problems, thus saving grief and time. A much better
solution if you ask me.
