Re: File Sharing from XP to Vista Ultimate

Thank you so much for your response.

When I go to my XP SP2 computer and try to type in \\COMPUTERNAME (where the
COMPUTERNAME is the name of my Vista Computer) I get a message saying that
that name cannot be found on this server, although there is a graphic
representation of my Vista computer sitting right there in the window. Of
course, when I click on the Vista computer, I am told I "may not have
permission...."

My router is a Netgear router using DHCP with dynamic IP addresses.

I am only using the Windows Firewall right now, and I have enabled "File and
Print Sharing" in the advanced properties of the Windows Firewall.

As far as the "Win HTTP Web Proxy Autoproxy Discovery" service, when I check
in Windows Services, I see it is "running."

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
