Re: No USB device working in Vista while it is recognized through bios Well, after a day (and half a night) of hard work I managed to get
everything back connected and working again. The only way I managed
this was by plugging in a 7 port hub with its own power supply, and
plugging all devices into that hub one by one. When I use the usb
ports on the pc devices only got recognised on starting up Vista ->
disconnecting and connecting again resulted in disappearance of the
device.
So now only 1 usb port on my pc is used for the hub. All devices are
connected to that hub and they are hot pluggable. Disconnecting the
hub however makes all devices disappear and reconnecting the hub again
has no effect. Nothing is recognised. But hey, why should I want to
disconnect the hub? So this solution works fine - although I have no
explanation for it...
