Hi Julian,
When you right click on the "Recent Places" folder in "Favorite links" and click properties, where does the "Target" point to. I'm assuming you are trying to get it to show IE7's recent places?
Shawn
Never mind above Julian. I see what you mean now. It's for a Recent Documents list, right? I suppose you have to have the two Recent options (under privacy) checked in the Start Menu properties for it to remember what's recent. ??

My Recent Documents: Most file dialog boxes have a History (Windows 2000), My Recent Documents (XP), or Recent Places (Windows Vista) shortcut in the Places Bar. Click it to see a list of recently accessed files and folders. In Windows 2000 and XP, you can filter the types of files in this list via the 'Files of type' drop-down menu at the bottom. In Windows Vista, you can remove the current batch of shortcuts in Recent Places by right-clicking the icon and choosing Clear Recent Items List.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
