RE: I have to reset my network adaptor every 3-5 minutes. Why? I apologize. I will sign onto messenger, try to open a web page, and then if
i attempt to move to the next page, for example, the wireless will suddenly
go completely out or will say "Connected with limited access". Then I will
click on the icon near the clock that indicates connectivity and click on
network and sharing center. There i will click on "View status" and then on
"Diagnose". The message then reads "Your modem or router cannot be found"
and lists a few options, one of which is to disconnect the router and reset
it, another is to find IP addresses, and the last is usually to reset the
network adapter. I then click on the last option, it will either read "no
problem was found" or it will read "problem has been resolved", either way i
am again able to connect, sometimes for the rest of the session, all too
often for another 3 to five minutes. The computer remains plugged into a
power source for the duration, and the disconnection is not due to moving
either the router or the computer.
In "network and sharing center" i have seen messages about making sure that
my firewall settings match the suggested settings, but i find that if i have
a firewall turned on AT ALL, the computer simply will not connect. I do not
have an antivirus program installed, but i do not download things, so I
shouldn't have a virus. Is that all the info you need?
