Re: removable device / ready boost issue You have not indicated that Windows has stated the new device is capable of
being used for ReadBoost.
Right click the device - select properties - select ReadyBoost tab - if
Windows has okayed use of the device There will be a "slider"s to set the
memory for ReadyBoost use.
Regarding "...not intending to use ot for ReadyBoost obviously....".
Selection for readyBoost is not automatic - you must tell Windows to do so
