I currently have the latest driver 1.71 for your codec in my system. I have a BFG 680i motherboard with your hardware built in.

There is NO way the system detects the headphones when they get plugged in. It only detects the system as 7.1 speakers.So the system only works as a 7.1 and not as a 5.1+2. There are occasions where i need to shut my speakers off and listen solely via the headphones to not disturb the people but there is no way i can make vista output stereo 2.0 via the side speaker plugs like in XP.

In windows xp (which I dual boot on the smae machine) i can successfully select the headphones and hear stereo via the +2 channels.On recent changes I was unable to select them both at the same time, but that is not a big deal.

Supposedly this system is 7.1+2 and i need the +2 in order to set up the headphones for play with the headset.

I hope I am clear about the situation.
