Alex H, it is by far not the only problem that pops as you start using the start menu.
Lots of things are pretty inconvenient, so personally, I always prefer a customized approach and here's what I've installed just a week ago:

Then, there's another one that is handy at sorting the programs by categories, so you might wanna play with it.
