Hi Dan,
Unless you have the paid version of Hotmail, then it will not work with Windows Mail. Windows Mail only supports POP3 or IMAP email servers, not HTTP website email. If this is the case, then you can switch to Windows Live Mail, it supports all three.

If you do have the paid version of Hotmail, then please post more details and any error messages you may have for us to use to help you with.
