Thanks for all the previous advice. The root of the problem is that Windows
will not allow the latest Vista compatible driver/s to be installed, and
overrides them with it's own stored/remembered version. Here's what you do.
Uninstall all loaded Lexmark drivers/software, including reboot. Download
latest driver version from Website, including software.Then find Lexmark 2400
file in desktop. Right click on file and click "Run as Administrator "from
selection offered. The printer installation programme will re-run and on
completion (incl. reboot again ) you should be back in control of your
printer. Note that this also worked for me with my Speedtouch modem, which
also went haywire due to Windows installing obsolete drivers. Thanks again
for all your help and I hope this continues to work for other
strugglers.......
