Re: Wanna hear a good one? Microsoft support claims a 3 seat license...

Umm, this isn't a Vista issue at all. Why not rant in the appropriat Office
group, at least.

If the version of Office you have is the Student and Teacher (2003) or the
Home and Student (2007), the EULA states it can be installed on 3 computing
devices (no mention of desktop, laptop, refridgeratortop....)

Why were you even talking to Sam about this?

is not valid on more than 1 laptop. ie I was told by "Sam" today that I
could only install office (3 seat license) on 2 desktops and ONE
laptop. I couldn't believe my ears! i said nowhere on the package does
it say that. finally he conferenced us in with another employee who
refuted his claim of "only one laptop" can be utilized with a 3 seat
license. Bear in mind this yoyo claims he has been working at Microsoft
for 6 months....with an Indian accent....sigh

what a frickin hassle!!! I called yesterday at 4 PM...was told the dept
i needed closed at 3. called back today and the number i was given was
the WRONG department (of course!). then I get Sam who spins this big
tale about only one laptop per 3 seat license. good grief! no wonder i
hate microsoft!!! too many phone calls, too little expertise. You'd
think with the BILLIONS they have made, they could afford to train their
employees. I hope I don't have to call them again for a long time....

oh, btw, i brought up the EULA on line and searched for "laptop" in
tthat document. it's nowhere to be found. why am i not surprised?

Note to Microsoft: RETRAIN SAM!
