Re: How Do I Permanently Get Rid of Recovered Folders in Windows Mail?

I backed up my Windows Mail using Express Assist 9.0. I’ve used
Express Assist for years without a problem.

For various reasons, I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Vista.
I restored the mail using Express Assist, but this time, I wound up
with a bunch of recovered folders.

I can’t seem to get rid of the recovered folders. Every time I delete
them from Windows Mail, they end up coming back again.

This makes it difficult for me to backup with Express Assist.

Is there any way I can track down these recovered folders on Vista,
and delete them permanently so they won’t show up in Windows Mail
again?

If there is a way, what is the procedure? I’m also curious to know
what might have caused the problem, and if it can be prevented in the
future.

If you need more information from me, in order to solve this problem,
please let me know. Thank you! J. Danniel
Hi J. Danniel,

I would stop using the Assist 9.0 and use the "Import/Export Messages feature built in to Windows Mail under the File menu".

To get rid of the problem, read the top portion at this link and do the "To Reset Windows Mail". It will start you clean again.
