Thanks Peter. I found a link on the web on how to reset WM and did that.
Lost all my stored messages which I thought I'd exported, however the
problem is fxed. Thanks.

This is a known issue. You can either ignore it or change your WM client to
the new Windows Live Mail or even thunderbird.
