There are many, many reasons why a program will run in one operating
system and not in a completely different one. This is not unique to
Vista. Vista is a completely different operating system from XP. Some
older programs will work with no problem, other older programs may need
to run in emulation (look at "run older programs" in Vista's Help), and
some older programs will not run at all. The success of running a
program outside of its native operating system is completely dependent
on how that older program was written.
Therefore, when you have difficulties with a program under a certain
operating system, your first step is always to check with the program
mftr. by 1) looking on their website for support issues; 2) looking on
their website to see if they have any user forums/newsgroups; 3)
contacting their tech support by phone or email.
