If you're happy with XP's performance on that box, then I'd say stick with
XP. You're on the cusp of acceptable performance, RAM wise... even for
Basic, but there may be other issues with hardware/software. Without a full
listing of your hw/sw and a general feel for what it is you use your PC
for... anyone here would be nuts to say "yeah, move to Vista."
