I assumed that had been tried, Cal, as you had already made the suggestion.
I was figuring, if all else fails, turn off UAC!<G>

I'm also thinking the issue may be complicated by a possible forced install
given that I didn't find the printer listed as compatible at the Lexmark
website; hence, a compatibility situation may in part be driving the issue.
