Try this if you haven't already done so, right click the file, select
properties on the Security tab, click Edit, select your name or whatever is
in the list that denotes the name with which you took ownership and then
place a check in the box next to "full control," click apply and ok and then
see if you can delete the file

If the above doesn't resolve it, does your laptop connect to a network and
is this a shared folder?
