RE: Start up programs blocked By all means follow John's links and fix the problem that way. However, out
of curiosity, you might want to try this first. Use the Windows key+R to get
to the command line (or Start, Accessories, Run). enter 'msconfig' and OK.
This will start the system configuration utility. Click on the Startup tab.
You'll see a list of the programs Windows loads when it starts. Find the
programs in question and see if they have become unchecked (disabled). Check
them to enable them. Close the program and be sure to check the little box
that tells Windows not to start the configuration utility each time Windows
starts or you'll get the same message from Windows Defender saying it's
blocking the Configuration Utility from running. If that doesn't solve the
problem follow John's instructions because it sounds more practical.
