Never Ever install graphic drivers from Windows Update. Microsoft does not include the full driver package. They only include what is needed for some basic functions. Always download the drivers from the video card manufacturer.
There are very few drivers for any devices that will work correctly from Windows Update. There are always some pieces missing, such as the console.
If I let Windows update the drivers for the RAID controller on my motherboard, it does not update the RAID console driver at the same time. If I were to let Vista reboot at that point, I can kiss the file system good bye. |
