We get quite a few reports here from people who've used
Windows Mail successfully for several months, then boom!
Suddenly it quits working. After uninstalling Norton or McAfee,
Windows Mail begins working again.

Like Julian says, get a refund from Symantec. That's what I did
after buying my last copy of NAV in 2003.
