When I first installed 6 months ago I turned UAC off immediately.
SInce then, with the full wipe and reinstall, as well as install on
this new machine, I left UAC on. (however my account has
administrative privs)
www.grc.com had nothing to complain about except that it could ping
my gateway. green lights everywhere.
I'll have a look at that newgroup,because you are right - not much
info coming through here except for you. (though I've had dozens of
reads on the web page I posted. but no comments)
