Alright, let's try to do things a little differently. It's a long shot, but those sometimes work.
Re-enable UAC. One never can tell; there might be something valuable in that here.
Make sure that when you run sfc /scannow you are running cmd as an administrator (this is a MUST when UAC is enabled).
If you built your system or upgraded it yourself, have your install disk in the DVD player (there's a chance it needs access to a file).
If you could let us know what errors there are (if it outputs any), that'd be fantastic.
Also, check your CPU manufacturer's website and make sure you've got everything they say you need to run x64 systems. I have no idea why this would be the problem for that issue, but one never can tell. |
