first with sleep (used to be hibernate). the hiberfil.sys file is there and
i want to delete it (save 2gb space; is not used) but can't figure it out
if i go to change advanced power options, i have 'sleep after - never'
'allow hybrid sleep - off' and 'hibernate after - never'
however it doesn't delete the hiberfil.sys file. anyone know why? am i
missing something? it says the file is in use so can't delete manually

second issue is with vista explorer
previously, i was able to customize the explorer view the way i want and
select 'apply to all folders' and every folder would have the same view
i try that in vista and it doesn't work. after i do that, selecting other
folders goes to other views and the columns don't stay.
for example, i will have it with details showing name, date modified, type,
attribute then tell it to apply to all folders.
next, if i select the root of C, it shows as a list; if i change to details,
the columns are name, date taken, tags, size, rating as if it is a pictures
folder.
of course, being the root of the drive, there is no customize tab to specify
file type (pictures, music, etc)
anyone else have the same issue?
Hi Seth,

Val answered your first problem above this.

To make Vista remember you view settings again do all of the "Second Method" section here.

Windows Explorer Folder View settings

To change the folder type template on the "root C:" and to see how to apply it to all the same folder type templates, see this link.

Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates

This should help with what you needed.
